The Important Bits
Privacy of your data is at the core of TeamTime.
We use the Basecamp API to authenticate you and temporarily load the names of your Basecamp user, account, projects, and todo lists while you’re using TeamTime. All of the temporarily loaded data is never stored and is discarded once you’re done with the app.
Below is a listing of everything that we do store, never store, and what we track for analytics purposes. If you have any questions about the privacy of your data or anything else related to TeamTime, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What We Do Store
- Your time logs — the actual time you log
- Your Basecamp Account ID, Project ID, Todo List ID, and User ID, so that we know who logged the time and for what project/todo-list — we never store their names
- Billing contact information that you give us when you sign up for the Unlimited Plan: company name, email address, and phone number
What We Never Store
- We never store any of your Basecamp account/user/project/todo-list names, descriptions, or notes. We have no business of having them in the TeamTime database. Whenever we need to display the name of an account/user/project/todo-list, we always fetch it from the live Basecamp API and discard it when you close TeamTime.
- We never store your payment information - it is stored and handled by Stripe (https://stripe.com/privacy).
What We Track
- We use Firebase to track basic app performance, usage, and error logs, so that we can quickly diagnose issues our users experience and know basic usage statistics for our app (how many people are using it daily and what countries/states they're from).
Third Party Services We Use
- Basecamp API for fetching the names of accounts/users/projects/todo-lists to display them inside the app. These are never stored and are discarded when you close the app.
- Stripe for billing and subscription management — only Stripe has your payment info: https://stripe.com/privacy
- Firebase: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Analytics for tracking basic app performance and usage statistics, like how fast our app loads, number of daily active users, and what countries/states our users are from
- Cloud Messaging for sending time log reminder notifications to users who choose to receive them
- Crashlytics for capturing detailed error logs within our app, so that we can quickly diagnose and fix them without users having to report them to us
